1.Jaipur (Pink City)

Major Attractions: Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort, Jantar Mantar, City Palace

Best Time to Visit: Early November to February (Winters) or July to September (Monsoon)

How to Reach: Since Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan, it is highly convenient to reach here via any mode of transportation. The city is just 269 kms away from Delhi which takes only around 5 hours to cover by one’s own vehicle.

Jaipur, aka the Pink City, is the starting point for travelers who wish to explore the beauty of Rajasthan. From humungous forts to majestic palaces, the city boasts of several artistically designed monuments. Besides, it is also a major attraction for domestic and foreign tourists alike. Apart from the tourist places, the handicraft sold in the markets is one of the highlights of Jaipur tourism.


2.Jodhpur (Blue City)

How to Reach: Jodhpur is well connected to all major cities of the country. The airport is 3kms away from the main city while the railway station is 5 kms away from the city. From Delhi, Jodhpur lies at a distance of 605 kms.

Best Time to Visit: October to February

Major Attractions: Mehrangarh Fort, Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jaswant Thada, Mandore Garden

Jodhpur is truly magnificent in terms of the architecture flaunted by the forts and palaces of the Blue City. Although the climate is hot and dry, the city turns much more attractive and worth visiting during the winter season. Visiting Jodhpur is like taking a stroll in the ancient times and witnessing the historical tales of Rajputs and their lifestyle.


3.Jaisalmer (Golden City)

Major Attractions: Jaisalmer Fort, Patwon ki Haveli, Gadisagar Lake, Thar Desert

How to Reach: Jaisalmer is around 780 kms away from Delhi which equates to a journey of 14 hours via NH11. The nearest domestic airport is in Jodhpur at a distance of 285 kms from Jaisalmer. However, the railway station is just 2 kms eastwards of the city.

Best Time to Visit: November to March

A trip to Rajasthan is simply incomplete if you don’t include the Golden city of Jaisalmer in the list. Jaisalmer is an astonishing destination that offers all the quintessential elements of Rajasthan. From the intricate carvings of Patwon Ki Haveli to the quaint Gadi Sagar Lake and from the Sam Sand dunes to the majestic Sonar Quila, everything is worth your time. The camel safari in the sand dunes is a major element that attracts tourists to the city.  


4.Udaipur (White City)

Major Attractions: Lake Pichola, Jag Mandir, Monsoon Palace, Saheliyon ki Bari

How to Reach: Udaipur is well connected to all major cities of India and hence you take any medium of transport including road, rail, and air. It’s 664 kms away from Delhi and 393 kms away from Jaipur.

Best Time to Visit: September to March

The White City of Udaipur is unarguably the most peaceful and romantic spots in the entire state. Also known as the Lake City, the place is simply breathtaking and yet simplistic. Apart from being popular for destination weddings, it is also preferred for weekend getaways whereby tourists love spending time in sightseeing and nature photography.
