Jhalana Safari Park: Witness the Wildernesses of the Jaipur Forest

Jhalana Safari park, situated in the heart of the Jaipur city, is a park spread across an area of 17 square kilometers. It’s a reserve forest area that houses around 20 leopards and other mammals. The site has also been opened for Jeep safaris and bird watching. It’s a famous tourist spot especially among those who wish to catch a glimpse of the wildernesses of the Jaipur forests. It's an ideal tourist destination for nature lovers in and around Jaipur.

Set in the foothills of the Aravalli range, the forests are situated just outside the industrial area of the city. Although the site is famous for leopards, it also houses around 200 species of birds and more than 450 species of plants. The place is often compared to Ranthambore Tiger Reserve that is famous for its tigers.

After the introduction of leopard safaris, the place has gained much more fame among tourists. The best thing is the local tourists don’t have to step out of Jaipur to enjoy the sight of the wild animals.

If you are at Jhalana Safari Park, you can also visit the twin lakes Chandlai and Barkehda, situated on the outskirts of the city. This site is one of the most unexplored places in Jaipur but is a great spot for nature photography and bird watching.

Best Time to Visit:

Although the park remains open throughout the year, the best time to visit is between November and March because of the pleasant weather. Also, during the summers, the leopards are more often seen wandering near the waterholes.
