In Hinduism, three deities are considered the best, Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. They are addressed as 'Trinity' in Hinduism. Of these three gods, Brahma ji is considered to be the creator of the universe, Vishnu ji as the caretaker, and Lord Shiva as destroyer of the unrighteous. According to Hindu religion these three gods have their own beliefs and mythological significance for which millions of people worship them.
Lord Shiva has special significance in Hinduism. There are many temples of Lord Shiva in India and some of these are full of various mysteries which have not been discovered till today. We are going to tell you about a similar mysterious temple. Actually, this is the only such temple which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Vishnu, both.
Located in Rajasthan
This temple is situated at a distance of 65 kilometers from Mount Abu Hill Station of Rajasthan. The name of this temple is Vastanji Mahadev Temple, Aburaj. This temple is said to be called Aburaj, because the Arbuda Mountain is hinged on the head of the serpent of the same name. It is believed that the 5,500 years old temple near Gurushikhar is from the time of when there were 33 crore gods and goddesses appealed. This is the only temple in the world where Lord Shiva is worshiped before Lord Vishnu.
Temple is hinged on Serpent's Head
This temple is a wonderful temple in its own right. As the temple is also known as Aburaj Temple because the tumultuous Arbuda Mountain is hinged on the head of the snake named Arbuda. It is believed that Arbuda Mountain is the place where 33 crore Gods and Goddesses were worshipped together on the Aravalli Mountains. The decription of this event can be found in the Arbuda section of the Skanda Purana.
Wishes get fulfilled
This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Vishnu, where both are worshiped. It is believed that whosoever asks or wishes for anything on this pilgrimage receives the blessings of Lord Shiva and Vishnu and also their wishes get fulfilled.
The Legend about the Temple
It is believed that the legend is that after the austerity of Lord Dattatreya (joint incarnation of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh) and many Sage Munis, 33 crore Gods and Goddesses were invited to come to the Aravali Mountains. They remained on the Aravali Mountain for 11 days. Lord Vishnu came as the guest of Lord Shiva on Mount Arbuda by which Lord Shankar was quite pleased.
Lord Shiva and Vishnu circled Arubudanchal overnight. Lord Vishnu was pleased with this and he announced that here you will be worshiped before me. He said that I will be worshipped after Lord Shankar here. After that the temple was built her and Lord Shiva get worshipped before Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu was very pleased with the service of Lord Shankar and he had established this system. The age-old system is being used today.
One of the special occasions is Mahashivratri
This temple is one of the pilgrimage sites. Many people come here to take blessings of Lord Shiva and Vishnu. This temple receives a large crowd on Monday. With this, a special event can be observed in this temple on Mahashivaratri. It is a mythological belief that on the every Monday of Shivratri, Mahashivaratri and Savan, the combined powers of Lord Shankar and Lord Vishnu reside here.
