Jaipur: To bring relief to the patients and their families who have to traverse between SMS hospital and Trauma center, an underpass is soon going to be constructed between the two buildings.
Chief Minister, Mrs. Vasundhara Raje laid the foundation stone of the underpass on Tuesday morning. She said that after the construction of the underpass, patients and their families would not require to cross the Tonk Road to reach the Trauma Center from the main building of the hospital. She inspected the details of the work and instructed the officials to complete it within the period of 12 months.
On the occasion of foundation ceremony, Minister for Health and Family Welfare Shri Kalicharan Saraf, Urban Development Minister Shrichand Kripalani, State Health Minister Banshidhar Khandela, MP Shri Ramacharan Bohra, Additional Chief Secretary Forest and Environment Shri NC Goyal, Additional Chief Secretary UDH Shri Mukesh Sharma, Principal of SMS Medical College Dr. U.S. Agarwal and other officers were present.
JDA Commissioner Shri Vaibhav Galalia informed about the ramps and shops that will be built in the underpass. He said that the underpass will be 34 meters long and 22 meters broad and will be built on Tonk Road. A total of 22 shops shall also be built in the underpass and in front of them there will be a 5 meter wide road to their both sides. For going to the underpass from SMS Hospital, a 53.60 meter long and 6 meter wide ramp is to be built whereas, a ramp of 54 meter length and 4.5 meter width will be built between the Trauma Center and underpass. Sairs and elevators will also be built for going to the underpass from both SMS Hospital and Trauma Center. All these constructions will cost Rs 15 crores to the administration.
