Gulab Bagh, the largest garden of Udaipur will soon have Rajasthan’s first bird park which will be sheltering various species. As of now the enclosure for parrots has been set up which is going to comprise 11 different types of parrots. The next is the enclosure for Emus for which the forest department has already submitted the design.
It will have a variety of parrots right from the Asian species like Rose-Ringed and Plum-headed ones to the beautiful blue and gold macaws. Other species include Senegal and Grey Parrot from Africa as well as Sun Conure from America.
Some other species of the bird include Emperor Goose, Dusky Lory, White Stork, Victoria Crowned pigeon, Military Macau, Manchurian Crane, Rainbow Lorikeet, Yellow Bibbed Lory, and so on.
Spread across an area of 51,135.47 square meters, the estimated cost incurred in the establishment of this project is INR 11.49 Crores. The financial aid has been provided by the tourism department, Municipal Corporation, as well as Urban Improvement Trust.
The aim of this bird park is to promote the local tourism and to render a platform for studying about bird culture. The place is going to be beautified with a learning centre, a watchtower, a hospital for birds, and some public facilities.
