The Shekhawati festival is organized by the district administration of Sikar, Jhunjhunu and Churu every year on 10th and 11th February. For the purpose of promoting tourism in the state, the state government organizes "Shekhawati Festival" every year. This festival attracts a large number of tourists, thus increasingly becoming a rural tourist destination. This program includes one day tour of the area, camels and jeep safaris, farm visits, rural sports, cultural events, mansion competitions and fireworks. Nawalgarh serves as the main location of the festival and can be reached easily by the capital city of Jaipur. Many activities like rural sports, cultural events, mansion competitions and fireworks etc. are organized to entertain guests.

Many types of events are organized in the Shekhawati festival. Many competitions are also organized for children like kabaddi, Rumaal Jhapatta, rassa-kassi,mehandi, mandana, song etc. Apart from the children, there are many such programs for the elderly, in which men and women also participate. For women, A Bhavai Dance compitition (Bhavai, a famous folk dance of Rajasthan in which performers balance up to 9 pots on their head.) is the biggest reason for the attention of tourists coming to the festival.
