In the on-going row on movie Padmaavat (earlier Padmavati), a new decision has been come out just now. Supreme Court has issued an interim notice that movie will release in all four states where it was banned earlier.
On dismissing the petition, the apex court said that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) considers all aspects before granting certificate to any film as per PTI. Hence, the court should not intervene in Censor Board’s jurisdiction. Due to continuous protest over the release of the film, the state government of Rajasthan has banned the film in the state.
Governments of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana also supported this ban on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat and announced not to release the film in their states. But, this decision of Supreme Court will be a relief to the filmmaker and the cast of the movie Padmaavat. In fact, the viewers have been eagerly waiting to watch this movie. Hence, this news will elate the viewers and supporters of Padmaavat.
What is the controversy?
