Ram Navmi is the day of the incarnation the Lord Shri Ram. This year it is going to be celebrated in Jaipur at grand level on 4th April 2017. Jaipur is one of the main religious centers of India and due to the presence of second maximum number of temples in India after Kashi, it is also as known as Chhoti Kashi. Ram Navmi Festival is celebrated across all the temples of Lord Shri Ram in Jaipur with band performances, Ram Dhun and Shobha Yatra processions.
One of the oldest temples of Lord Shri Ram in Jaipur is Ramchandra Mandir at Chandpole Jaipur where the festival is celebrated at grandest level every year. Maha Aarti is offered to Lord Shri Ram in evening with 21000 Diyas (earthen lamps) in the temple.
A grand shobha yatra procession is also been processed in the evening. The procession starts from Surajpole Anaj Mandi at around 4:00 p.m. and rests at Ramchandra Mandir, Chandpole Jaipur by late night. The procession was marches from Surajpole gate, Ramganj Chaupad, Badi Chaupad, Johri Bajar, Sanganeri Gate, Bapu Bajar, Chaura Rasta, Choti Chaupad, Chandpole Bajar and finally ends at Ramchandra Mandir. Meanwhile, devotees perform aarti, shower flowers on shobhayatra and distribute prasad at a large scale. Ram, Laxman, Bharat and Shatrughan march on decorated Elephants in the shobhayatra procession and gain the attraction of the devotees.
