Rajasthan updates

The Drayavati river project is another remarkable victory to the wings of CM Vasundhara Raje. This project will present Jaipur in a new look. The CM has decided to give Drayavati riverfront look similar to Sabarmati riverfront. It will have greenery and promenade around it. This project is basically the revamp of Amanishah drain. Know more.

This 47-km long Daryavati riverfront is already an attraction in the Rajasthan capital. In this flagship project of Raje government, 16 km are ready with three parks and walking and cycling tracks currently. In this, the sewage generated by the city will be treated at five plants, with a capacity of 170 million litres per day.

Amanishah drain is a century-old drainage of the city. It carries the discharge of industrial effluents and sewage from neighbouring colonies. This drain has spoiled the beauty of Jaipur city.

Know other details

The river bed has recharge and percolation points. Considering the water drainages, every 300 metres there are check dams and porous concrete pits for the water to seep into the ground.

For this project, Rajasthan government has signed an agreement with TATA Project for building the riverfront and maintaining it for the next 10 years. More than 7000 labourers are working overtime so that the Chief Minister can inaugurate it well ahead of time. It is expected that the project will be completed very soon.
