Pratapgarh Jail which was once famous for its notorious acts has got an image makeover with the efforts of Jail Superintendent Paras Jangid. Due to the constant efforts made by Jangid, no crimes have been reported in the Pratapgarh jail from the last one year. The transformation of the jail prisoners has set an example for other jails in Rajasthan.
From the day SP Paras Jangid held the office, the entire atmosphere of the jail has gained a positive change. Jangid brought this change by interacting with the prisoners and asking them about their likes and dislikes.
The prisoners in the jail get to take part in various activities like prayer recitation, meditation, sports, magic shows, literacy classes, and even screening of movies. Besides, the government is also planning to set up a study center of Indira Gandhi Open University where prisoners will be able to complete their studies.
This worked as a therapy for the prisoners and gradually they adapted themselves and transformed their image from being criminals to being productive individuals. For his efforts, Jangid has also been honored at various platforms for his innovative and unique ideas. When asked, he said that he got the inspiration from Jail DG Bhupendra Singh and IG Rupinder Singh.
