PM Modi thunders in Churu- ‘Nation is in safe hands’

In first public remarks after strikes by the Indian Air Force across the Line of Control, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was greeted with thundering acclaim as he declared the nation was "in safe hands" at a rally in Rajasthan’s Churu, soon after India announced on Tuesday it had conducted an air strike on the terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in Pakistan.

‘Main desh hain rukne doonga, main desh nahin jhukne doonga.’ he said in his first address after the announcement, which was made by the external affairs ministry – ‘I won't let the country stop, I won't let the country bow down.’

India had vowed revenge after a suicide bombing masterminded by JeM, which is based in Pakistan, killed 40 CRPF jawans in Jammu and Kashmir on February 14.

On Tuesday, Foreign Secretary Vijay Keshav Gokhale told reporters a large number of JeM terrorists, trainers, and senior commanders were eliminated in India's non-military, intelligence-led strike on JeM's biggest training camp in Balakot, located in Pakistan.

Here is what PM Modi said in Churu

• First of all, PM addressed the people in Churu in the local language and bowed to the Salasar Balaji and Goga ji (local diety).
• Further, he thanked the land of Shekhawati which sacrificed the lives of its brave sons.

• Later PM said, ‘I appeal to you all to salute all our soldiers today... I assure you all that the country is in safe hands.’ Whatever happens, will not let the nation stop.
• The reason I am being able to work like this is because of your support, your trust.
• Let me tell you this, we are a government that thinks a group is bigger than an individual, and the nation is bigger than any group.

Slammed newly-appointment in Rajasthan

• PM said, ‘It is very unfortunate that not a single farmer from Rajasthan and Churu has got any money. Do you know why? Because the state government has not even sent a list of the farmers. They are not cooperating with the Centre’.
• Within the next 10 years Rs. 7.5 Lakh crore will be deposited in the accounts of farmers. They will not have to do anything for it. They will directly get a notification on their mobile phones, saying that they have received the amount.
• My government has made the impossible, possible. The state government must not hinder the Centre's support to farmers.
• India needs a strong government and I am sure that your vote this time will give us even more strength to carry on our work to take India to new heights.
