Padman, the film spreading the awareness of the use of sanitary pad will be tax-free in the state of Rajasthan. The lead character played by actor Akshay Kumar is working on spreading public awareness in the film. Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje announced the film to be tax free in the State.
She said that while worrying about sanitation of girls and women in rural areas, machines will be installed for sanitary pad distribution in schools and colleges. She also thanked actor Akshay Kumar for making the film Padman with the aim of spreading the awareness of the use of sanitary pads. She further added that the film will be tax-free in the state so that more and more women can get this message of cleanliness.
The film stars Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in the lead roles and is successfully running in theatres since it release on 9th February 2018.
