On Monday, 11 March 2019, Jagdish Prasad Pareek, who hails from Sikar's Ajitgarh, received the Padma Shri for dedicating himself to organic farming, animal husbandry, and rainwater harvesting. Indian President Ram Nath Kovind conferred the Padma Awards to the recipients on March 11, 2019, at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and Pareek was one of them.

Jagdish Prasad holds Limca book of world records for producing largest cauliflower in India which was weighted 25.150 kg. Jagdish has been promoting organic farming for years. According to Jagdish, he learned organic farming from his uncle.
Padma Shri is not the first award for Pareek
Before Padma Shir, Jagdish Prasad received Srishti Samman in 2000 and First National Grass Roots Innovation Award in 2001.
