Udaipur: Under the Railway Re-development Program, railway station of Udaipur, along with that of other twenty two cities of India, is going to get auctioned.
Under the program, these twenty three railway stations will be auctioned to the private companies who in turn will give their respective stations a facelift. Udaipur is the only city from Rajasthan that is chosen for the first phase of the program. Other stations that are included in the program are Mumbai Central, Howrah, Chennai Central, Kanpur, Allahabad Jn., etc.
Costing about ₹ 4 thousand crore, the plan will involve development of the chosen railway stations under Public Private Partnership. The bidding for the stations will be held on June 28 through online means. Interested companies or individuals will be able to bid for the stations by visiting the railway website. The results of the auction will be announced on June 30.
