The ninth edition of Great Indian Travel Bazaar, a 3-day annual tourism fair, started in the state capital Jaipur on 23rd April, 2017.
Hosted by department of tourism of the state government and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the tourism fair is being organized with the partnership of the state government of Gujarat, Bengal, Maharashtra, Jammu & Kashmir, and Madhya Pradesh.
Inauguration of the event took place in Hotel Lalit, where Additional Chief Secretary – Tourism, Government of Rajasthan NC Goel set the start of the event with a keynote speech.
During the keynote, Goel stated that the state government is giving highest priority to the tourism infrastructure of the state and for that purpose has already submitted proposals to the Union Tourism Ministry to develop innovative circuits for Heritage, Desert terrains, and Tribal adventures.
During inauguration, two knowledge papers titled as ‘Rajasthan – Revelation Beyond the Obvious’ prepared by FICCI and MRSS and ‘India Inbound Tourism – The Next Growth Trajectory’ prepared by FICCI and YES Bank were released by the dignitaries from the Ministry of State for Tourism, Art & Culture, Rajasthan.
The venue of the fair is Jaipur Exhibition & Convention Centre, Sitapura, Jaipur, where 2475 leading foreign tour operators from around 53 countries are participating. Along with that, 1130 Indian companies from the sphere of tour operations, hotels, resorts, international airline etc. too are participating.
