Nagaur Festival of Rajasthan is a joint venture between Dept of Animal Husbandry and Dept of Tourism, Govt of Rajasthan. It is celebrated over a span of 4 Days.
In 2018, it is happening from January 22-25.
Notable things to watch during the festival is huge number of different animals including cows, oxes, bullocks, horses and camels that gather at the fair for the purpose of trade.
Mirchi Bazaar is another main attraction of this festival. It is believed that best red pepper is being sold during this fair. It is the largest pepper market in India.
The animals who are being traded in the fair are decorated beautifully by the owners. Even the owners themselves get dressed in loud colors, so that they can be noticed among the crowd.
A large number of tourists become part of this festival and enjoy the sports and cultural activities like tug-of-war, camel and bullock races, jugglers, puppeteers, etc.
Late in the evening folk music and dance performances are also organized by which the native people as well as the travelers attending this fairs can enjoy the festive atmosphere.
