Ajmer: On the occasion of 851st birth anniversary of Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan, a marathon was held early this morning.
The race was organized by Prithviraj Foundation in Ajmer and was flagged off by Ajmer Railway Board’s Manager Punit Chawla and Superintendent of Police Rajendra Chaudhary. With Patel Ground as strating point, the race took the course through Agrasen intersection, Agra Gate, Ganesh temple, Naya Bazaar, Bangles’ market, General Post Office, Gandhi Bhawan, Kachhari Road, India Motor Circle and Information Center.
After the completion of the race, Women and Child Development Minister Anita Bhadel announced the names of the winners. Prizes will be conferred to the winners tomorrow evening in a program organized at the Chandravardai Sports Stadium. While announcing the names of the winners, Bhadel commended the initiative saying that “This race is historic and an important step in keeping the memory of the emperor Prithviraj Chauhan alive amongst the youth.”
