The Jaisalmer War Museum showcased a light and sound show narrating the story of brave soldiers of the Indo-Pak War. The show held on June 10 was dedicated to the country conceptualized by Major General OP Gulia, General Officer Commanding, Battle Axe Division.

The 40-minute long show was attended by several important civil dignitaries of Jaisalmer and a large number of people. Narrated by Bollywood actor Kabir Bedi, the show was beautifully designed by a fusion of laser, lights, sound, and visuals.

The show reiterated the legendary Battle of Longewala in detail with audio-visual effects of laser animation showing bunkers, tanks, guns, aircraft, and soldiers. There were glimpses of the history of wars that Indian Army has fought since independence. These included the war with Pakistan in Kashmir in 1947, 1965 Indo-Pak war at Tanot, and the crushing defeat of Pakistan in 1971 at Longewala.

The show was concluded by a patriotic song dedicated to the Rann Bhumi of Jaisalmer expressing gratitude to the martyrs and thanking citizens for their unconditional faith in the Indian Armed Forces. It’s expected that the introduction of light and sound show will help in giving a boost to tourism in the border district.

Various steps are being taken to make the museum more and more popular among the tourists. Major General Gulia said that Jaisalmer War Museum is the first one to start a light and sound show and it will help promote tourism in the city. Besides, better amenities are being arranged for the tourists to popularize the place and attract more and more visitors.
