Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje accompanied Sinha at the inauguration ceremony of the Kishangarh airport located nearly 105 km from Jaipur. The minister said the government is aiming at providing air connectivity to all major cities of the state.

Recently, Bikaner was directly connected to New Delhi and today we are throwing open the newly constructed Kishangarh Airport for flight services, Sinha told reporters after inaugurating the airport.

He said expansion of air services in the state will boost religious tourism.

The airport will connect religious destinations such as Pushkar and Ajmer Dargah which record a large number of domestic and international arrivals. It is a low-cost but advanced airport with facilities of domestic and international airports elsewhere in the country, he said.

Now in coming days the regular commercial flights will begin shortly. As airlines will now soon be submitting the proposals to the airport authority for starting their operations, said Kapoor. In the month of August, International Air Transport Association (IATA) has allotted code KQH to the airport.

Apart from Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, and Kota, Kishangarh has become the seventh town in the state to have an airport. Many of these cities are now connected via intra-state airline service which connects two cities of the state by air.

Notably, this will be an important airport of the country as it will be feeding the pilgrims of Ajmer and Pushkar. Earlier, VIP passengers were using helipad in Ghughra village in Ajmer.

Moreover, Kishangarh also is home to marble industry and sees a lot of people coming from across the country. The airport authority hopes that all this will generate good passenger traffic.
