Jaipur Literature Fest is going to seek attention of the attendees on Rajathan’s rich heritage by organizing two Heritage Evenings on 26th and 28th January. As per the latest reports, these evenings will be organized at Amber Fort and Hawa Mehal and will be marked by theatrical, musical, and cultural performances.
As per Mr. Sanjoy Roy, Managing Director, Teamwork Arts, Producer of the festival, the event will showcase some of the best musical and theatrical performances, which have been especially curated to bring people closer to “Rajasthan’s spell binding spirit and landscape”.
"With support from Rajasthan Tourism, we will present some of the best music and theatre performances against the backdrop of over 1000 years of Indian architecture and heritage," Sanjoy Roy, producer of the ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival, said.
Talking about the evenings, on 26th January, 'Under the Stars' at Hawa Mahal will feature a multimedia dance and theatre production named “The Troth-Usne Kaha Tha” presented by Akademi, a UK-based producer of Indian dance, marking the centenary of World War I. It will feature UK’s versatile dancers who will take the audience through the story of love, loss and sacrifices during World War I. It would narrate the story of rural Punjab in the late 1800s and the strife-torn Belgian trenches.
On 28th January, a Majestic Evening will be held at Amber Fort. The program will begin with Sarangi recital by Ustad Kamal Sabri. This performance will be followed by Ghazal performance by singer, songwriter, and composer Shekhar Ravijani.
He will be giving a tribute to the legendary ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh. These soulful performances will include masterpieces like ‘Hazaaron Khwahishein Aisi’, Hothon se Choo lo tum’, ‘Jhuki Jhuki si Nazar’, ‘Tum Itna Jo muskura rahe ho’ and others.
