Back to Rajasthan, a Deja vu for Ajay
At the press meet, Milan explained how important Rajasthan is for the plot, and said, "This kind of landscape and terrain has not been seen on screen for a long time, so it's like a character in the film. I wanted to present Rajasthan in a new way and we were lucky to find virgin locations, which has added to the barrenness that I wanted in the film," said Milan. Nineteen years ago, Milan and Ajay shot for 'Kachche Dhaage' in Rajasthan. Ajay said that he was surprised to see not much has changed in the place since then. "Surprisingly, even today, there are the same hotels, same signboards and the same main road in Jaisalmer. Being back there was like a deja vu," he said.
Getting the look right
Since the film is a period drama, the actors said they worked hard to get the authentic look and feel of the era. Esha said that her character's look and attitude was based on the glamorous actress of the '70s. Emran said that he based his character on a nondescript tour guide from Jaipur. Ileana, who plays a queen in the film, added, "My only reference was for the clothes, costumes, and hairstyles" Baadshaho, directed by Milan Luthria, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Milan Luthria, releases today.
