The museum shares the story of each gemstone and educates the visitors about the world of gems and jewellery. The Museum is the brain child of Dr. Rajnikant Shah (Coordinator, Museum of Gem & Jewellery Federation). Apart from him, a group of enthusiastic NRI jewellers from New York and jewellers from Jaipur to took part in this endeavour, who had a strong desire to leave behind the footprints of forefathers who had developed trade in this city.

The museum has more than 50 sections to illustrate the journey of stone. Each section has been developed with a particular theme; e.g. rough and cut stones, special rough stones, gemstone specimen, rocks, ancient manufacturing tools etc. It has interesting segments such as gemology maps, nature’s art gallery, colours of nature, mining and jewellery manufacturing process details.

A separate jewellery sale section has been provided to ensure visitors can get glimpses of latest trends in gems and jewellery from all over India. They can also purchase jewellery of their choice from this section.
