Bundi: The district in-charge and urban development minister of Bundi Shrichand Kriplani, led another new initiative for the social cause of women empowerment, by launching free e-rickshaws in the city.
The inauguration of the scheme was done on Thursday, during the Chief Minister's Public Welfare campaign that was held at the premises of Municipal Council. Launched under the Janani Yojana, the e-rickshaws will now serve women, by providing them with free transportation services while going to and fro from hospital. On the occasion, dignitaries like MP Om Birla, MLA Ashok Dogra, City Council President Mahavir Modi and Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Deepak Nagar, among others, were also present.
A day before, the minister has also distributed leases for the benefit of common people. Out of the total distribution, 9 leases were granted for agricultural land conversion. 18 people from self-help groups were also benefited by the campaign.
