Five new medical colleges in the state are expected to start from this session. Principals have been appointed to overcome the shortcomings in new medical colleges. The seventh pay scale has also been applied in new medical colleges.
Medical Minister Kalicharan Saraf said that the government has imposed full strength on its behalf to start new medical college in Churu, Bhilwara, Dungarpur, Pali, and Bharatpur so this time, to get permission to start a medical college in the next visit of Medical Council of India. Medical colleges are also to be started in Sikar and Barmer, but due to lack of infrastructure and lack of faculty there, the government has not done any work to start these two medical colleges right now.
The state government has expressed the hope that five new medical colleges will be started from this session. However, on the last visit, the MCI had refused to start new medical college from this session after defacing façalities and infrastructure deficiencies. But now the government has again applied for an MCI visit. To meet the shortfall of faculty, the faculty from current state medical college has been transferred here.
The seventh pay scale has also been applied in new medical colleges. For the medical colleges in the remote areas of Dungarpur and Barmer, the special pay scale package has been sanctioned to be given along with the salary. New pay scales are being implemented from January 1, 2018. The principals have been appointed to overcome the shortcomings in the new medical colleges in the state.
