Rajasthan Assembly polls are due in few months. The preparations for the elections are going in the state. Today, the Election Commission of India (ECI) nominated senior IAS officer Anand Kumar as the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Rajasthan. He will replace Ashwini Bhagat. This decision came suddenly as only few months are left to Assembly elections 2018. Check it out.
The government of Rajasthan and the ECI consulted over the new Election CEO in state and finally nominated Kumar on the post. Talking about Anand Kumar, he was posted as principal secretary of medical education department in Rajasthan. He will replace Ashwini Bhagat who was holding the post since November 2016.

Belonging to Rewari district of Haryana, Anand Kumar has held several top posts in Rajasthan government. He is an IAS from 1994 batch (Rajasthan cadre). He held the position of district collector in six districts of the state and was also the secretary and commissioner of the panchayati raj department.
Current Scenario in state
The political temperature in the state has been rising due to upcoming elections. The opposition part in the state, Congress, has alleged that there were nearly 45 lakh fake voters in the state’s electoral rolls. It also claimed that abnormal increase in numbers of voters in the last few years led to disproportion in the state.
