Being the son of an Army Doctor, my father was posted to Jaipur Army Hospital in the year 2001 and so my journey of being in Jaipur started 16 years back. I was in class 7th that time and completed my schooling till class 12th and passed out from Army School Jaipur in 2008 as the school topper.
I worked in KPMG, Delhi for few months to realise that this career was not for me. Hence, I left the job and followed the passion of my life which had always been music. After leaving the job, I completed Masters in Economics and started learning web development on my own. I even started my own web development company. but after a year or so I realized that music needs my utmost attention.
Getting professionally into music was not planned. It just happened. I belong to a family of highly educated professionals, so education was always the most important thing for me. As a extra curricular, I started playing in school band and gave my first performance at the age of 5 on Congo and later, when we came to Jaipur, I became a drummer in a school band.
The plan was always to keep music as a hobby and give priority to studies but the job made me realize that my passion for muisc deserve a chance to have my full attention and devotion, which was not possible being in the job.
I am a self taught musician as I never got an opportunity to get a formal training in music because of my father's transferrable job. I now can play more than 35 instruments but it took me years of hardwork on each and every instrument. I mostly learned by listening to the recordings of masters of that instrument playing it and trying to produce the notes back on my instrument but it has been a very slow process and till date I do riyaz for atleast 4-5 hours daily.
As I am not from any music background, it has been difficult for me to go ahead in this profession without any mentor or guide to promote. After struggling a lot, my talent has finally been recognized as I was appreciated by Santoor legend Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma, lyricist Prasoon Joshi and popular journalists like Arnab Goswami and Rajat Sharma.
I have performed at at Dubai Yoga Festival, Abu Dhabi festival, Dilli Haat, Art Of Living function where Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was also invited, Iskcon temple Jaipur, Iskcon Bhajan Sandhya in Dubai. I have also performed at many NGOs for fund raising events like Aashray working for animal rights at Hotel Clarks Amer in Jaipur.
I started off as a classical musician and recently shifted into bollywood and other popular music as there is a very less demand of classical music in India. As a musician, I believe that its not about me but always the audience I am playing for. As a performer, its my responsibility to entertain my audience and make them happy and I am happy that I am able to achieve that so far.
