Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Bassi village in Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan, which is just 5 kms away from Bassi Fort Palace. The sanctuary is spread across an area of 150 square kms on the west border of Vindhyachal Mountain Ranges. It's one of the most interesting places to visit in Chittorgarh.
This sanctuary houses a variety of vegetation including the deciduous and dry forests with trees like the Dhok, Churel, and Butea. Besides, there is a wide variety of medicinal herbs and flowering plants as well. It’s a great place for nature lovers and those who are fond of observing wildlife in their natural habitat.
The sanctuary serves as an abode to animals like jackals, hyenas, Cheetah, four horned antelopes, wild boar, langur, porcupine, etc. Apart from the wild animals, tourists can also spot a variety of birds like peacocks, Blue Ball, cuckoo, hawks, eagles, peafowls, whistling duck, storks, Saras cranes, etc.
Nearby Tourist Attractions
The tourists can also visit the nearby Bassi Fort Palace along with Bassi and Orai dams. Although camping isn’t allowed in the forest area, the tourists can indulge in nature and wildlife photography. Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the least explored sanctuaries in Rajasthan that offers a great escape amidst the wilderness.

How to Reach Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary
The sanctuary is well connected to Chittorgarh so one can either take a cab or choose a bus ride to reach the sanctuary via NH 27. It’s 5 kms away from Bassi Fort, which is 321 kms away from Chittorgarh.
