Alwar: These days Alwar is celebrating the first ever held Art and Book fair of the district.
Citizens of Alwar appear quite excited about the festival; testimony of their exuberance is the recorded sales of 1.5 thousand books on the very first day. The book collection at the fair has been presented by the National Book Trust, Sahitya Akademi and Department of Publications.
Apart from providing the collection of books, National Book Trust has also arranged for a workshop on literature and writing where several children participated with great enthusiasm.
Though with 18 separate book stalls, literature appears to be the emblem of the fair, the cultural events held during the evenings proves why the fest is also being called the art fair.
Interactive activities set on today’s schedule include a Story Telling Workshop, poem recitals guided by famous lyricist Kunwar Beshan, Divik Ramesh, Naresh Shandilya, and Sahitya Akademi Youth Award winner Nilotpal Mrinal.
Cultural programs of today’s evening will be held from 7.30am to 10pm featuring world famous Sufi singers ‘Char Yaar’.
