This year Ambedkar Jayanti was celebrated in the state at a grand level. The festivities of the occasion lasted for five days, during which multiple programs were held at different locations.
The chief celebrations were organized at the ‘Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Foundation’ situated at Mundla village in Jaipur. In the event chief minister Vasundhara Raje addressed people with the message that in order to achieve the pre-designed mottos of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas’ and ‘Aao Saath Chale’, it is important for every citizen to follow the principles laid by Baba Saheb. Furthermore, she added, that Baba Saheb was a great personality not just for the nation but for the entire world. His message of social equality is relevant even in the modern times. It is important to bring the oppressed classes of the society into the mainstream, and the government is putting constant efforts in the direction.
After chief minister’s oration, the event progressed with distribution of several awards that were allocated to the students who scored high in the board examinations this year, and others who have contributed in the society in the field of women empowerment and social equality.
The event concluded with an exuberant cultural evening during which a number of performances were held, exhibiting the folk dance forms of Rajasthan and Maharashtra in the memory of Baba Saheb.
Inauguration of Saypura-Jamwa Ramgarh Road Development project
Apart from the ceremonial celebrations, chief minister also inaugurated the road development project of Saypura-Jamwa Ramgarh. As per the plan, the project will be executed within a period of a year. The project costs approximately 23 crores to the government. Once the project gets finished, the Jamwa Ramgarh assembly area will have a better scope in transportation with predictable reduction in the cases of road-accidents.
