Abdullah Pir Dargah, Banswara- A Peaceful Shrine Surrounded by Greenery

Abdullah Pir Dargah, also known as Dargah of Abdul Rasul, is a famous pilgrimage located in Banswara. The place has a great historical importance and is visited mostly by Bohra Muslims, especially during the festival of URS. The festival goes on for 6 days marked by musical programs of qawwalis at night. A lot of pilgrims from various parts of the country visit this Dargah to perform prayers.

About the Dargah

The main Dargah (shrine) is built of white marbles and has four entrances. It is located in the midst of beautiful gardens and is a sight soothing for the eyes. The dome-shaped roof and finely carved architecture are some remarkable elements of the place.

It is a quiet place surrounded by gardens where you will be able to spend quality time in solitude, away from the busy hustle bustle of the city areas. However, during celebrations, you will also have a great time listening to the musical qawwalis. The crowd also increases during other festivals like the upcoming Eid-Ul-Fitr which will be observed from the evening of June 14 till the evening of June 15.

How to Reach

In order to reach the Abdulla Pir Dargah, you first need to know how to reach Banswara. Once you are in the city, there are several options for the commute like buses and taxis. For those traveling by air, Udaipur is the closest domestic airport to Banswara at a distance of 185 kms while for railways travelers will have to reach Ratlam which is 80 kms away from the city.

If you are in Banswara, there are several places to visit. Apart from this shrine, religious places including 12 and a half Swayambhoo Shivlingas. For those who are more inclined towards nature can also visit waterfalls and artificial dams.
