Rajasthan, a holy land has many pilgrimages. One of them is Kaila Devi temple in Karauli. Located 23 kms away from Karauli city, this shrine holds an important place amongst devotees. Built by rulers of Karauli, this temple is known to be one of the 9 Shakti peeths of goddess Durga.  The foundation of the temple was laid in 1723 by Maharaja Gopal Singh Ji.

Talking about the architecture of the temple, it is built of marble with large courtyard. Basically, the temple has statues of Kaila Devi and Chamunda Devi who are sitting together while there are other small temples in the premise. The temple premise looks amazing with enormous number of the red flags offered by devotees in the temple.

The popularity of fair held at Kaila Devi temple attracts tourists from the whole country. Organized in the month of Chaitra, this fair is really amazing.  Devotees mainly from the states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan gather here and perform rituals. To reach the Kaila Devi Temple, there are several ways.
