Passengers will soon hear announcements of air operations in Dhundhari, Marwari, and Mewari language at Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur airports, respectively along with Hindi and English. Airport Authority of India at these places are mulling over the plan to make announcements in local dialects.
The decision came a day after the Union civil aviation ministry issued a directive on Wednesday asking all 100 odd airports in the country to make public announcements in the local language first, followed by Hindi and English. The move follows a directive from civil aviation minister Suresh Prabhu.
Tourism experts of Rajasthan believed that this will add on to the foot-fall at the airports in Rajasthan. Because, gone are the days when air journey was confined to selective people. With the low-fare airlines penetrating across the country, it is a good move as the common man too is traveling by air.
